Methacrylic acid-divinylbenzene copolymer may be safely used in food in accordance with the following prescribed conditions: ( a ) The additive is produced by the polymerization of methacrylic acid and divinylbenzene. The divinylbenzene functions as a cross-linking agent and constitutes a minimum of 4 percent of the polymer.
