The maximum civil penalty for a violation of the fuel consumption standards of <https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/part-535> 49 CFR part 535 is not more than $51,668 per vehicle or engine. The maximum civil penalty for a related series of violations shall be determined by multiplying $51,668 times the vehicle or engine production volume for the model year in question within the regulatory averaging set.
