ASME Code Section stamps and National Board stamps required for boilers and pressure vessels in each US state, Canadian province and US city, county or territory

Which ASME Code Section stamps and which National Board stamps each jurisdiction requires on a boiler or pressure vessel, from the National Board Synopsis (NB-370). A manufacturer or repair shop planning to ship or service equipment in a new jurisdiction needs this before the vessel leaves the shop -- installing a vessel without the required stamps means rejection by the state inspector. The chart covers three groups, and so does this dataset: the 50 US states, the Canadian provinces and territories, and the 16 US cities, counties and territories that set their own stamping rules -- Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and others. A city can differ sharply from the state around it: Detroit requires no National Board stamp where Michigan requires R; Miami and Miami-Dade County require neither an NB nor an ASME stamp where Florida requires R,VR. Requirements vary just as sharply between states: Alabama requires all ASME stamps and all NB stamps; Idaho requires none of either; California requires all ASME stamps but no NB stamp except at refineries (R stamp); the Canadian provinces generally 'accept' rather than 'require' the NB R stamp for equipment manufactured outside Canada. Each record is one jurisdiction with its NB stamp requirements and ASME stamp requirements listed as the synopsis prints them.
