What changed — Federal rules taking effect: every US final rule in the Federal Register, by effective date

The change history of Federal rules taking effect: every US final rule in the Federal Register, by effective date: 415 US final rules already published in the Federal Register, listed by the date each one takes effect: 364 in 2026, 44 in 2027 and 7 in 2028 or later, from 66 agencies, running to March 2033. Every record carries the agency, the CFR parts it amends, the effective date as the rule prints it, and the rule's verbatim DATES paragraph. Answers 'which federal regulations take effect on January 1, 2027', 'what rules affecting 47 CFR part 10 are already published but not yet in force', 'what is the compliance date for the DOJ web accessibility rule', and 'what changes are coming for my industry that are already law'. The hard part is that a rule published in 2023 can carry a 2026 or 2033 effective date: the obligation is already binding law, it is nowhere near the front page, and the only way to find it is to know it exists. This is the enumeration keyed on effective date, not a list of things that have not happened yet: a rule stays listed after its date passes until the next re-harvest moves the window, so 196 of the 415 had already taken effect when this was counted on 2026-09-14.

Since the initial snapshot of , this register has changed on 5 further dates. This register is re-checked against its sources on a schedule; a date appears below only when records were added or their values changed, so a quiet stretch means the register itself was quiet, not that nobody looked.

We keep the current verified state of each record, not the value it replaced — so each entry says which records changed and what they now state, never what they said before. Machine subscribers: poll changes.xml (Atom) or changes.json instead of re-fetching the dataset.
